7th-12th Grade Book Club (July-The Hobbit)
Delving into J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth, students will explore story elements such as character, setting, and plot. They will also be challenged to ponder deep themes and develop critical thinking skills. Class sessions will be held Mondays in July at 1pm (4 weeks). Each class session will last for 50 minutes and will be an interactive lesson via zoom for your convenience. While there will be short writing assignments throughout the month, our primary focus will be building a deeper appreciation and understanding of the book we read. This month we will be reading The Hobbit. This class is not required for the fall course on Tolkien’s LOTR trilogy but would be a wonderful prelude for students.
